Key Staff Profiles
Gonzalo Palza joined Centro as CEO in September 2006. Previously, he worked as a Senior Business Advisor for IPA Advisory and Intermediary Services, LLC and as General Manager and Director of Finance for Otis Elevator Company. Mr. Palza has been a visible advocate for educational equity for minority students and actively involved with the development of minority assistance organizations such as the Pete Suazo Business Center and SCORE (counselors to America's small businesses). He is an adjunct faculty member of the Salt Lake Community College’s Small Business Development Center and most recently served on the faculty of Western Governors University. Mr. Palza holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Thunderbird Garvin School of International Management, Glendale, Ariz. and a Bachelor of Science from Utah State University. He is a native of Bolivia and is fluent in English, Spanish, and German.
Douglas A. Neiswender — Finance Director
Douglas Neiswender joined Centro in October 2006. Prior to joining Centro, he served as CFO for The Living Planet Aquarium and as a Controller for both PGM, Inc. and DesignTeam, Inc. He also served as Finance Director of Utah Symphony. Mr. Neiswender received his BS in Accounting from the University of Utah.
Edith Urbina — Executive Assistant
Edith Urbina joined Centro in October 2004 and was promoted to her current position in 2006. Prior to working at Centro, she worked for over 20 years as a bilingual executive assistant with law firms, financial companies, and chain hotels throughout Mexico. In the hospitality industry she provided translation support to clients, staff, and management of international companies. In Utah she has volunteered teaching English to immigrant adults at the Boys and Girls Club in Midvale. In 2005, Ms. Urbina received Centro’s CEO’s Award for Service Excellence. She is a native of Mexico City.
