The Mexican Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IME) provides part of the funding for our Plazas Comunitarias program. Plazas assists and supports adults in finishing their basic education (elementary and middle school). The target population is Mexican and Spanish-speaking adults. A facilitator and volunteer assistants guide participants to use online educational resources as well as textbook work to complete credits towards their elementary of middle school education. They meet once a week at computer labs located at various sites. We are proud to report that Centro runs one of the most successful programs in the nation being funded by IME with some of the highest retention and graduation rates.
