Jennifer Eldridge, Manager Here at Centro de la Familia de Utah, our mission is to strengthen the Latino family by promoting self-sufficiency through culturally competent social services to the Latino community. Our goal is to serve 10 percent of our enrolled children with disabilities. Currently in our five Head Start® centers we are working with over 11 percent of children with special needs. Centro works closely with Local Education Providers, the Baby Watch Early Intervention program, and other organizations to better the needs of our children with disabilities. Our five Head Start® locations seek to assist children and families with Mental Health needs. Centro de la Familia recognizes the importance of connecting families to community resources. Each center works closely with surrounding community agencies to offer therapeutic services and mental health screenings. The objective of the disabilities component is to help children and families achieve their educational goals. Each of our centers has a Developmental Specialist who collaborates with teachers and local education providers to meet the needs of the child. Upon entering the center each child is screened for hearing and assessed for behavior and learning delays. Once children have been screened and a delay has been suspected, the child is referred to the appropriate intervention agency. School Districts that the H.S. Disabilities Program works with include: Honeyville Center
Providence Center
Genola Center
Mt. Pleasant & Centerfield Center
